«I’D RATHER BE A CYBORG THAN A GODDESS», 2020
Fine art print, acrylic glass, digital collages, each 35.1 x 25.1 cm; 25.1 x 35.1 cm
The digital collages by the artist duo Monod_Marcus, consisting of Alizé Rose-May Monod and Anna Marcus, present possible visions of the future that oscillate between dystopia and utopia. Called «I‘D RATHER BE A CYBORG THAN A GODDESS» in reference to Donna Haraway’s Manifesto for Cyborgs (1985), the work continues the reflections on gender initiated by the author. These allegorical collages are infused with references to queer and feminist discourse and question the relationships between gender, nature, technologies and globalisation. Monod_Marcus responds to digital progress as well as its impact on areas such as care, sales, information technologies, but also on the private and public spheres.
