Lorenzo Salafia (*1983, lives and works in Kehrsatz)

Instant Sculpture, 2018
PU foam, plaster, brass, ceramic, various types of wood, 50 x 50 x 18 cm

The work Instant Sculpture foregrounds the aspect of the multifaceted nature of art by appealing to one’s imagination. Objects of different textures in seductive colours are presented in a wooden crate commonly used for transporting artworks. Lorenzo Salafia leaves it up to the visitors to imagine a sculpture according to their own wishes, starting from different elements gathered together. This kit for a work of art is a way of pointing out that art is created both by the hand of the artist and by the gaze of the viewer.
