Performance Antoine Läng & Luc Müller – SOLO / MUTE / PAN
6 October 2022, 19:00 – 20:00
As part of the exhibition SOLO / MUTE / PAN, Olga and Laurent are organising four residencies of artists working at the intersection of music and sound art. During a three-day residency at the Kunsthaus, these six guests* work on, intervene in or expand a part of the sound system installed for the exhibition. Each residency finishes with a performance and leaves a noticeable trace in the composition created by Olga and Laurent.
Antoine Läng
Antoine Läng (lives and works in Geneva) dedicates his work to the raw voice and the extended vocal apparatus, using different acoustic devices. The voice is explored through breath and other physical mechanisms that can produce sound forms that are specific to the body and the place in which they are used. This relation to space is currently being extended to other aspects of his musical work. The focus is on the act of listening to and perceiving places that are envisaged as sonic spaces through performance.
Luc Müller
Drummer-percussionist Luc Müller (lives and works in Lausanne) is interested in improvised and experimental music. He enlarges or modifies the usual sound field of the drums with heterogeneous objects, in order to enrich his playing with new sounds and to create percussive instrumentariums adapted to different musical projects. His approach to sound, whether amplified or not, is more acoustic and he draws a lot of inspiration from electroacoustic or electronic music and from everyday sounds in his sound research. He regularly collaborates with artists from other artistic fields such as dance, visual arts, theater, literature, cinema, comics.
